Two days before Alysia’s wedding, there was a hurricane watch in Miami. All the new stations were spreading the message of gloom and doom for Saturday’s date. I called her to see how she was, I must admit I was a bit nervous myself but I was going to be positive for her no matter what. She was cool as a cucumber. Not necessary for me to calm her down since she was happy as could be. The hurricane threat died down, but the day was non-stop rain. Again, this did not phase Alysia in the least bit. That tells you a lot about a person. It tells you a lot about their priorities. The bottom line is these two are in love, they were getting married today and come hail, storm or any other catastrophe, nothing was going to change that and me personally…if I had to take a canoe to go shoot it, I would have because I wanted to be a part of it.
Alysia and her bridesmaids got ready at the Sofitel Hotel by the Miami Airport.
The ceremony took place at Pinecrest Presbyterian, a small church on Sunset Dr. in South Miami.
The reception was decorated beautifully and coordinated by the talented Anette Alvarez from A Unique Event by Bri.
I must say I really enjoy the new trend of brides and grooms doing a cool first dance! I’ve had a number of brides and grooms lately tell me that they are practicing a special dance whether funny or waltz for their wedding. It is awesome! Alysia and David started out with a regular slow song, but then the DJ pretended to scratch the record and switched to this musical number where the bride and groom did a fantastic performance that had everyone laughing and cheering. I loved it!
If all the excitement wasn’t enough, Alysia and David had props and hats for the guests to wear for the party. Hora Loca!
Alysia and David, you guys have been wonderful! Enjoy the captures.
