I had the pleasure of meeting Marie and Danny for the first time on Saturday, November 19th, their wedding day. Marie planned the whole wedding from New York and I must say she did a spectacular job of it because it turned out beautiful.
I met Marie at her cottage in Cheeka Lodge where she was getting ready. Her bridesmaids, mom and grandmother were there with her and the whole room was giddy with anticipation. You could tell the bonds of friendship in this group went deep.
Marie and Danny opted to do a first look prior to the ceremony because they wanted to be with their guests and family during cocktail hour. I went downstairs to place Danny in the “first look” area. That was my very first conversation with Danny. “Danny, do you know what you are about to do?” Danny responded, “No idea.” I said, “you are about to see your beautiful bride for the first time. Are you ready?” You could see the emotion set into his eyes. The reality of this just set in.
The ceremony and reception took place at Pierre’s restaurant in Islamorada, a gorgeous plantation style house on the beach. The day was perfect for this wedding.
Marie and Danny incorporated a flower lasso to symbolize the unity of marriage.
The interior of Pierre’s has a Polynessian décor which fits nicely with the beach themed wedding.
Thank you, Marie and Danny for trusting me with this day! I really enjoyed it.
